August 19, 2024
Airlines, whether we’re talking about Wizz Air, Ryanair,
Blue Air or any other company, have strict rules about what you can and can’t
take with you on the plane. From food, to medicine, electronic equipment or
personal items, there are a number of restrictions set for flight safety. But
do you know exactly which items are prohibited on the plane and which are
allowed?
There is a long list of items that are not allowed on the
plane, whether they are dangerous or illegal. From weapons and ammunition, to
sharp objects, explosive or flammable substances, radioactive or toxic
substances, all are strictly prohibited.
The reason these items are banned is simple: security. It
risks endangering the safety of all passengers and crew. In addition,
transporting these items can have serious legal consequences.
The consequences of carrying items that are not allowed on
the plane are serious. At best, the item will be confiscated at security. In
the worst case scenario, you’ll end up with a hefty fine or even a prison
sentence.
However, there are exceptions to these rules. For example,
knives with small retractable blades or plastic blades may be permitted in
certain circumstances. But to avoid any problems, it is best to consult the
official list of items prohibited on the plane, available on the website of the

Are you preparing for a Wizz Air flight and wondering what
items you can take with you on the plane?
First of all, you should know that any type of weapon or
dangerous object is strictly forbidden on the plane. This includes firearms,
ammunition, explosives and any other object that could endanger the safety of
persons on board. And don’t forget, toys that resemble weapons are also banned.
Secondly, radioactive materials, condensed gases (except
carbon dioxide), poisonous or infectious substances and corrosives are all
banned.
In addition, you should be aware of objects which, because of
their weight, size or unusual characteristics, may endanger flight safety. For
example, large, heavy or awkwardly shaped items that cannot be properly stored
in the luggage space are prohibited.
Finally, Wizz Air has its own specific restrictions. For
example, safety deposit boxes with alarms or pyrotechnics are prohibited for
transport. Human remains are also prohibited.
To avoid any inconvenience, you should be aware of your rights as a passenger and check the
airline rules before packing for your flight. This will ensure that you don’t
have any prohibited items in your luggage and that you have a smooth and
trouble-free journey.
Before arriving at the airport, it is essential to know what
items are allowed in your hand luggage. In general, you are allowed to take
clothes, hygiene products, documents and small electronic devices such as
mobile phones and laptops. Most airlines allow hand baggage up to 10kg, with a
maximum size of 55x40x20 cm. It is important to remember that these are
standard values, but they may vary depending on the airline you fly with.
When it comes to liquids, there are strict rules you must
follow. Whether shampoo, shower gel or perfume, they should be packaged in
containers of 100 ml or less and placed in a clear airtight bag. This is an
international standard, accepted by all airlines.
As far as food and drink are concerned, you can take certain
products with you on the plane. However, there are restrictions on the amount
and type of food. For example, containers of liquids or sauces must follow the
rules for liquids mentioned above.
If you need to take medication during the flight, you are
allowed to take it with you on the plane. However, it is recommended that you
have a prescription or a note from your doctor, especially for prescription
medications.
As for electronic devices such as mobile phones, tablets and
laptops, they are allowed on the plane. However, at security, you may be asked
to remove them from your baggage and pass them through the X-ray scanner.
Finally, personal items such as sunglasses, headphones, books
and personal entertainment equipment are also allowed. So with good
organisation, you can have everything you need to make your trip as pleasant as
possible.
The airline is welcoming passengers with a range of items
they can take on board for free. These include:
a coat or blanket;
mobile phone;
reading material during the flight;
food for children under 2 years, a folding pram or a small
cot;
The liquids must be in containers with a maximum capacity of
100 ml and they must fit into transparent, resealable bags with a maximum size
of 20×20 cm. These bags will have to be presented separately at the security
check. Note that these restrictions apply to all types of liquids, including
personal hygiene products or beverages.
Despite having carefully planned your trip and made sure
you’ve followed all the regulations, you could face an unpleasant scenario:
denied boarding.
Most often, denied boarding is due to overbooking. Airlines
use this system to ensure that the plane will take off at full capacity, taking
into account the fact that some passengers do not show up for the flight.
However, there are other reasons why you may be denied boarding, such as
problems with your travel documents or hand luggage.
If you are denied boarding, don’t give up your reservation.
You can make a claim and are entitled to compensation ranging from $250 to
$600, depending on the distance of the flight. Find out more about Wizz Air compensation!
