If you flew with HiSky and experienced a major delay or cancellation, you could be eligible for compensation of up to €600.
The EU Passenger Rights Regulation states that you’re entitled to compensation if:
Your HiSky flight was delayed by more than 3 hours upon arrival;
You were informed of the cancellation less than 14 days before departure;
You were denied boarding due to overbooking.
All these situations may lead to financial compensation from HiSky.
A canceled HiSky flight gives you the right to compensation only if:
The cancellation was not caused by extraordinary circumstances (e.g., severe weather, external strikes, etc.);
You were informed less than 14 days before departure;
You were not offered a suitable alternative flight.
If these conditions are met, you may receive up to €600 in HiSky compensation, depending on the travel distance.
To receive HiSky delay compensation, the following conditions must apply:
You arrived at your final destination at least 3 hours late;
The delay was not caused by external factors, such as weather conditions;
You had a valid ticket and checked in on time.
If you meet these criteria, you're entitled to HiSky delay compensation of up to €600, based on flight distance.
Compensation amount depends on flight distance:
€250 for flights up to 1,500 km
€400 for flights between 1,500–3,500 km
€600 for flights over 3,500 km (between EU and non-EU)
If your HiSky flight was delayed between 3 and 4 hours on a route over 3,500 km, the airline may reduce the compensation to €300 (50%).
You’re not entitled to HiSky compensation if your flight was affected by extraordinary events such as:
Extreme weather conditions
Security risks
Political instability
Strikes by airport personnel
However, even in such cases, you are entitled to assistance: meals, drinks, accommodation, and transport.
In addition to financial compensation, HiSky is required to provide:
Meals and drinks based on waiting time
Free accommodation if the delay extends overnight
Transport between the airport and hotel
