When Can You Claim Compensation from Qatar Airways?

You can claim Qatar Airways compensation if:

• The flight was delayed by at least 3 hours at arrival

• You were notified of cancellation less than 14 days before departure

• You were denied boarding against your will

• There were no extraordinary circumstances (e.g., severe weather, external strikes)

Additionally, if your flight was delayed 5 hours or more, you are entitled to a ticket refund.
If you chose not to continue the trip, Qatar Airways is no longer obligated to offer an alternative flight.

Important: If you were offered an alternative flight and arrived less than 4 hours late, compensation may be reduced by 50%.

What Compensation Can You Receive from Qatar Airways?

Compensation is based on flight distance:

For flights from/to the EU operated by Qatar Airways:

• €250 for flights up to 1,500 km

• €400 for flights between 1,500 – 3,500 km

• €600 for flights over 3,500 km

Examples:

• A 3+ hour delay on a Bucharest–Doha flight (3,400 km) could bring €400 compensation

• A flight from Paris to Bangkok (over 9,000 km) with a long delay may qualify for €600

In addition to financial compensation, you’re entitled to assistance, such as:

• Meals and beverages

• Hotel accommodation (if the delay extends overnight)

• Transport between the airport and accommodation, depending on the delay length
